The Story

Country: France Region: South-West

Varietal: Malbec Vintage: 2023

Colour: Red Style: Dry

Producer: Combel-La-Serre

Description:
A 23-hectare family estate located 17 km from Cahors on the Causse Calcaire, Combel-la-Serre was born under the impetus of Jean-Pierre ILBERT, who decided to leave the cooperative winery in 1998 to become independent. His son, Julien, returned to the property in 2003 and now works with his wife, Sophie. Little by little, the couple gave the estate a second wind: conversion to Organic Agriculture (via Ecocert), return to numerous seasonal manual labors and reflection on the different terroirs, always with respect for the plant.

Tasting Notes:
Bright and intense purple hue, bursting with bramble fruit and characteristic Malbec grip. Aged in cement vats, the wine offers a round, enveloping mouthfeel with velvety tannins, and a lively explosion of summer fruit, complemented by a long finish of chalky and spicy notes.

Food Pairing:
Perfect pairing with roast poultry, vegetables, and red meat dishes.
