The Story

Country: Spain Region: Castilla y Leon

Varietal: Albillo Vintage: 2024

Colour: White Style: Dry

Producer: Raíces Ibéricas

Raices is a range of wines based solely on indigenous Spanish varieties. Most of these varieties are strongly connected to their particular, native region. Their intention is to bring the beautiful spectrum of Spain's often unknown grape varieties to the consumer. Raices is his ode to authentic Spanish grape varieties. Its roots run deep in the soil and history of one of Europe's oldest wine cultures.

Albillo Mayor has a long history in Spain. It is one of the oldest grape varieties in the country, and it is believed to be native to the central part of Spain, particularly the region of Castilla y León. The name “Albillo” comes from the Latin word “albus,” which means white. Some foreign authors define it as one of the best kept secrets in Spain because, it is probably impossible to find it outside our borders.

Tasting Note:
Pale yellow in colour with floral aromas, citrus and subtle mineral notes. Good structure and acidity in the mouth, with smokey touches, white flowers and lovely citrus fruits

Food Pairings:
Great with pasta, Scallops and fresh seafood
